About this role
Application Security Analyst (AI Training)
About the Role
We partner with the world's leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. Now we're looking for application security professionals to bring their real-world expertise to one of the most impactful challenges in AI: teaching models how to think about software risk.
If you know how software actually breaks in production — not just in theory — this role was built for you. You'll work with realistic security scenarios to help frontier AI systems learn how to assess, prioritize, and reason about application vulnerabilities with the same nuance a seasoned security engineer would.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
- Location: Fully Remote
What You'll Do
- Analyze real-world application security scenarios across code, APIs, and system behavior
- Classify vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, and business logic issues
- Evaluate the quality of secure coding practices and proposed remediation strategies
- Distinguish genuinely exploitable risks from theoretical or low-impact findings
- Create and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI to assess application risk accurately
- Provide structured, well-reasoned written analysis that AI systems can learn from
Who You Are
- 2+ years of experience in application security, product security, or software security roles
- Solid working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and common production vulnerabilities
- Able to think like an attacker and an engineer — identifying real risk, not just ticking boxes
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain security reasoning clearly
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments
Nice to Have
- Experience in penetration testing, code review, or secure SDLC programs
- Familiarity with cloud-native or API-first application architectures
- Background in threat modeling or risk assessment frameworks
- Prior experience contributing to AI training or data annotation projects
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems with top-tier research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
- Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
- Make a meaningful impact on how AI understands and reasons about cybersecurity
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
