micro1 is engaging Japanese Transcription Experts to contribute to a customer project focused on audio transcription and AI training. In this role, you'll apply your Japanese language expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Transcribe Japanese audio samples accurately, capturing content, context, speaker nuances, and linguistic details.
  2. Review, edit, and validate Japanese transcripts for completeness, clarity, and adherence to project guidelines.
  3. Correct errors, inconsistencies, or ambiguities in machine-generated or human-created transcriptions.
  4. Annotate audio files or transcripts with relevant metadata and contextual notes as required.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and other experts to ensure consistency and quality across deliverables.
  6. Use transcription tools and platforms to process and submit work according to project requirements.
  7. Contribute linguistic and cultural insights to improve AI model understanding and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Native-level fluency in Japanese, with strong comprehension of both spoken and written language.
  2. Professional experience in audio transcription, linguistic review, localization, or related language work is strongly encouraged.
  3. Familiarity with transcription conventions, audio review workflows, annotation tools, or speech data projects is preferred.
  4. Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to recognize subtle language, pronunciation, or context differences in audio samples.
  5. Proficiency in English to follow project instructions and manage occasional English-language content.
  6. Previous participation in AI training data, data annotation, or language technology projects is a plus.
  7. Strong organizational skills and commitment to delivering high-quality, timely submissions.
