About the Role
Mercor is hiring experienced News Analysts, Reporters, and Journalists to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. In this role, you'll evaluate AI-generated news content and workflows, leveraging your real-world expertise in reporting, news analysis, and editorial judgment across print and broadcast media.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated news stories, analyses, scripts, and other journalistic artifacts for quality and accuracy.
- Compare AI-generated responses head-to-head based on reporting rigor, editorial soundness, and clarity of narration.
- Review journalistic scenarios involving story selection, source evaluation, fact interpretation, and presentation choices and provide expert feedback.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Reporter, News Reporter, News Anchor, Staff Writer, Journalist, or another closely related news or journalism role.
- Experience writing, narrating, or analyzing news stories, reviews, or commentary for print, broadcast, or other communications media.
- Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.
- Strong written English communication skills.
Additional Information
- Start date: Immediate
- Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks
- Payment: task-based (payment upon first task approval). Experts who complete their first task within the required timeline will then be qualified to be paid hourly for the remainder of the project.
