micro1 is engaging Senior Technical Documentation, Parts and Annotation Specialists to contribute their deep domain expertise to a customer's innovative project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Transform engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) into precise, dependency-correct assembly procedures suitable for technical manuals.
  2. Identify, verify, and document industrial replacement parts and components based on photos, nameplates, and manufacturer or distributor catalogs, ensuring accurate fitment and application details.
  3. Interpret production patterns, markers, and cutting-room plans for apparel or industrial fabrication, verifying layout efficiency and technical correctness.
  4. Conduct quality assurance reviews on annotated image batches, adjudicating label accuracy against established project ontologies and annotation guidelines.
  5. Produce clear, defensible rationales for decisions and recommendations, capturing expert thought processes for model training purposes.
  6. Review and refine real-world documents, photos, patterns, or annotation data, delivering outputs at the standard expected from a senior practitioner in your field.
  7. Collaborate remotely with project coordinators, submitting deliverables through digital platforms within agreed project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following domains: mechanical technical writing, industrial parts/application analysis, production pattern planning, or computer vision annotation quality assurance.
  2. Exceptional proficiency with interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation, or demonstrated expertise with parts identification and catalog research.
  3. Strong analytical, visual, and spatial reasoning abilities, particularly in pattern interpretation or assembly process documentation.
  4. Proven track record of producing clear, structured, and accurate records, reports, or manuals to industry standards.
  5. Experience adjudicating or reviewing work within complex ontologies or quality control environments.
  6. Comfort working autonomously and communicating reasoning in written form for project documentation purposes.
  7. Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms and remote project participation is a plus.
