About this role
IAM Solutions Engineer
About the Role
What if your deep knowledge of identity and access management could directly strengthen the security posture of real organizations? We're looking for an experienced IAM Solutions Engineer to evaluate identity workflows, surface misconfigurations, and deliver clear, actionable findings across complex access-control environments.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for IAM professionals who think critically about authentication, authorization, and privilege — and know how to document what they find.
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: Flexible, with recurring review cycles
What You'll Do
- Review identity workflows for authentication and authorization logic, identifying gaps and inconsistencies
- Analyze access policies for least-privilege alignment and flag misconfigurations
- Validate SSO, MFA, federated identity, and directory integrations across platforms
- Identify security weaknesses in privilege provisioning, role assignments, and identity lifecycle management
- Summarize complex permission structures in clear, structured documentation
- Support recurring identity reviews across diverse environments and IAM platforms
Who You Are
Must-Have:
- Hands-on experience with IAM platforms, identity protocols, and access-control models
- Strong working knowledge of authentication flows — SAML, OIDC, and OAuth
- Proven ability to evaluate and clearly document complex permission structures
- Detail-oriented and systematic — you don't miss what's hiding in the configuration
- Comfortable working independently and delivering structured written output
Nice to Have:
- Experience designing or implementing enterprise IAM solutions
- Familiarity with zero-trust architecture principles and frameworks
- Background in security auditing, compliance review, or identity governance
Why Join Us
- Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule from anywhere
- Engage with technically interesting, high-stakes identity problems across varied environments
- Freelance autonomy with consistent, structured work and clear deliverables
- Potential for ongoing engagement and contract extension across new review cycles
- Work that has a direct, measurable impact on organizational security
