About this role

Senior Epidemiologist (Contract)

About the Role

What if your epidemiological expertise could directly shape how we understand and respond to population-level health trends? We're looking for a Senior Epidemiologist to evaluate complex models, interrogate study designs, and surface the insights that drive smarter public health decisions.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced epidemiologists who thrive on analytical rigor and scientific precision. You'll work independently on meaningful, substantive work — on your own schedule.

  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: Flexible

What You'll Do

  • Review and validate epidemiological models, checking assumptions and methodological integrity
  • Interpret population-level health data to identify and explain trend drivers
  • Assess study designs for bias, confounding, misclassification, and causal inference issues
  • Summarize findings in structured, scientifically rigorous formats
  • Evaluate relationships between interventions, risk factors, and health outcomes
  • Support recurring reviews of public-health surveillance data and reports

Who You Are

Must-Have:

  • Strong background in epidemiology, public health, or biostatistics
  • Deep familiarity with study design, statistical inference, and causal reasoning
  • Proven ability to analyze large, complex health datasets with precision
  • Comfortable working independently and delivering high-quality output on a flexible schedule
  • Clear, concise scientific communicator — written and structured

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in infectious disease modeling or clinical epidemiology
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems or public health reporting frameworks
  • Background in policy-relevant research or applied epidemiology

Why Join Us

  • Work on substantive public health projects that have real-world impact
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based assignments
  • Apply your scientific expertise to work that matters at a population scale
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
