Mechanical Engineer

Role Title: Mechanical Engineer – Video Annotation Specialist

micro1 is looking for Mechanical Engineers with 2+ years of experience to support a customer project focused on training advanced AI and robotics systems.

In this role, you will review and annotate videos involving robots, mechanical systems, tools, components, and physical interactions. Your engineering knowledge will help ensure the video annotations are technically accurate and useful for AI training. No previous AI experience is required.

Scope of Work

• Review videos showing robotic systems, mechanical components, tools, and physical tasks.

• Annotate and label objects, movements, actions, components, and mechanical interactions within videos.

• Identify important mechanical details such as motion, positioning, component behavior, and task sequences.

• Review video annotations for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

• Use your mechanical engineering knowledge to identify incorrect or unclear annotations.

• Follow project guidelines and annotation standards carefully.

• Provide feedback on difficult or ambiguous video examples.

• Work independently and complete assigned annotation tasks within project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Robotics, or a related field.

• Good understanding of mechanical components, tools, machines, and physical systems.

• Ability to understand how mechanical parts and systems move and interact.

• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or CATIA is a plus.

• Exposure to robotics, automation, manufacturing, or industrial equipment is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small differences in video content.

• Good written English and ability to follow detailed instructions.

• Previous experience with video annotation, data labeling, AI training, or computer vision projects is a plus, but not required.
