About this role

Spanish (Spain) Audio Transcript Editor (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your native ear for Castilian Spanish could directly shape how AI understands spoken language? We're looking for detail-oriented transcript editors in London — particularly those with deep familiarity with Spain's Spanish dialect — to review, correct, and refine audio transcripts that will power the next generation of AI speech systems.

London's large and diverse Spanish-speaking community includes a significant number of native Castilian speakers. If you have a sharp ear, a love of linguistic precision, and the patience for detailed, methodical work, this role was built for you.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just native or near-native Castilian Spanish, excellent listening skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Listen to Castilian Spanish audio recordings and compare them against existing transcripts, correcting errors at the word level
  • Fix misheard words, misspellings, punctuation errors, and formatting inconsistencies
  • Verify and adjust word-level timestamps to ensure precise alignment with the audio
  • Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently across all tasks
  • Flag unclear audio, overlapping speech, or segments that require additional review
  • Maintain high accuracy and quality standards across large volumes of transcript data
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Native or near-native Castilian Spanish speaker — deep familiarity with Spain's pronunciation, vocabulary, and regional nuances is essential
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to accurately distinguish words in varied audio conditions
  • Highly detail-oriented with a methodical, patient approach to repetitive precision work
  • Comfortable working with exact timing and word-level accuracy
  • Able to follow and consistently apply detailed style guides and formatting rules
  • Strong written communication skills in Spanish
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
  • No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer
  • Background in subtitling, closed-captioning, or subtitle editing
  • Linguistics training or academic background in Spanish language studies — particularly Iberian Spanish
  • Prior work with annotation platforms, data labeling tools, or transcript editing software
  • Familiarity with phonetics, speech processing, or audio analysis
  • Experience following detailed editorial or formatting style guides
