OT Network Device Engineer / Operational Technology / Remote with 25% travel
Our client, a leading global technology solutions provider, is seeking an OT Network Device Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to support enterprise manufacturing environments by providing expert troubleshooting and support for Operational Technology (OT) network infrastructure.
In this role, you'll be responsible for stabilizing and supporting OT network devices across multiple manufacturing sites, focusing on remote connectivity, industrial networking, and operational support. You'll work closely with both IT and OT teams to resolve complex network issues while helping build the foundation for future proactive monitoring services.
Contract Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) or industrial network environments.
- Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting network switches, Firewalls, VLANs, Trunk and access ports, Routing, ACLs, and Remote connectivity
- Cisco networking experience, including switch troubleshooting and configuration.
- Experience supporting Ewon or similar industrial remote access appliances.
- Ability to distinguish network device issues from PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control system issues.
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, plant, or OT-adjacent environments.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Cisco Industrial Ethernet (IE Series) switches or similar industrial networking equipment.
- Familiarity with Rockwell/Stratix industrial networking environments.
- Understanding of the Purdue Model and IT/OT network segmentation.
- Experience with industrial networking protocols including EtherNet/IP, PTP/CIP Sync, DLR/REP, and QoS.
- Experience with Cisco ISE, TrustSec/SGT, Catalyst Center, Cisco Cyber Vision, ThousandEyes, Secure Equipment Access, Claroty, or similar platforms.
What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
- Provide remote support for OT network device incidents through the customer's ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot Ewon remote access connectivity issues, including device reachability, connectivity failures, and access path validation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving OT switches, Firewalls, VLANs, Interfaces, Routing, ACLs, and Remote connectivity
- Partner with customer IT teams when issues involve Cisco ISE, SD-WAN, firewall policies, routing, or shared infrastructure.
- Review site documentation, network diagrams, inventories, and access methods to improve operational readiness.
