Kubernetes & Database Migration Engineer
Location: Remote (EST Hours)
Duration: 10-Month Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a Kubernetes & Database Migration Engineer to support the migration of a mission-critical on-premises application to AWS EKS. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Kubernetes, AWS, MySQL replication, Helm, Terraform, and cloud migrations. This role involves working closely with infrastructure, application, and DBA teams to plan, execute, and validate migration activities while ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of AWS cloud infrastructure and migration experience
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Helm
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, Security Groups, Transit Gateway, Route Tables)
- Experience with MySQL replication, AWS RDS/Aurora migrations
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
- CI/CD and GitOps experience (ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Flux)
- Experience with migration planning, cutover, rollback, and post-migration support
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS DMS
- CloudWatch monitoring
- DNS/TLS certificate management
- Manufacturing or warehouse application migration experience
- AWS Professional Certifications
Work Schedule: Remote, aligned with U.S. Eastern Time (EST) hours.
