About this role

Role overview

Mercor is hiring experienced engineering, procurement, and construction professionals to review and strengthen complex engineering tasks set in data-center projects. This is a technical peer-review role: you will assess realistic project-delivery and field scenarios, repair gaps in task materials, and confirm that the expected outputs and grading methods reflect professional EPC practice.

What you will do

  • Review long-horizon tasks involving design coordination, procurement and vendor data, bid and issued drawing packages, EOR revisions, constructability, temporary works, 4D sequencing, field engineering, commissioning, and handover
  • Check scope interfaces, technical requirements, schedule logic, equipment and material constraints, document control, construction methods, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify ambiguity, conflicting source documents, missing constraints, or unrealistic deliverables
  • Improve task prompts, supporting artifacts, acceptance criteria, rubrics, and programmatic checks
  • Produce clear technical findings and validate corrected tasks end to end

Who we are looking for

  • Typically 2+ years of experience delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, or comparably complex capital projects through EPC, design-build, or construction-management models
  • Relevant roles include Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, Design Manager, Construction Manager, Field Engineer, Procurement Engineer, Commissioning Manager, Project Controls Lead, or Technical Project Manager
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design and construction interfaces; PE, PMP, CCM, or commissioning credentials are preferred where relevant
  • Experience at a leading EPC, design-build, engineering, or construction firm is strongly preferred
  • Able to interpret large document sets, specifications, drawings, schedules, equipment submittals, cost and constraint registers, and field records
  • Precise, detail-oriented, and able to explain technical issues clearly in writing

Details

  • Approximately 5–10 hours per week initially
  • Immediate start
  • Compensation: $100–$140 per hour, based on experience and role fit
