micro1 is engaging Private Equity Associates to contribute expertise to a customer's project focused on enhancing AI-driven private equity workflows. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.
Scope of Work
- Design and author project tasks that authentically represent private equity workflows, including CIM screening, LBO modelling, and portfolio company monitoring.
- Develop and rigorously stress-test LBO models using realistic capital structures and operating assumptions, with a focus on returns analysis (IRR, MOIC).
- Craft investment committee memos evaluating hypothetical or real deals, outlining thesis, key risks, value-creation strategies, and exit scenarios.
- Conduct detailed due diligence assessments, highlighting risk factors and proposing mitigation strategies, mirroring industry best practices.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for financial accuracy, strategic judgement, and alignment with established private equity methodologies.
- Collaborate with project leads to refine evaluation rubrics, adjust task difficulty, and ensure comprehensive coverage across sectors and deal types.
- Deliver thorough documentation and feedback, supporting continuous improvement of AI training datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–6+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking plus private equity, or direct private equity roles at mid-market, growth, or large-cap funds.
- Advanced degree such as MBA or Master's in Finance; completion of top-tier programs (e.g., Wharton) is especially valued.
- Demonstrated expertise building LBO models and investment committee memos reviewed by principals or partners.
- Exceptional written communication, with a track record of producing clear, professional-grade documentation and memos.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement under ambiguous conditions.
- Direct participation in due diligence and risk assessments in live private equity transactions.
- Ability to commit to structured project work, delivering consistent, high-quality contributions within defined parameters.
